Skåne travel week Day 5 - Trelleborg

I have wanted to visit this reconstructed viking fortress for ages, and I finally did! This is Trelleborgen, the fortress for which the surrounding city is named. I've created a category on my blog for Paganism related topics, as my spirituality means a lot to me and I want to share it.

There is a museum here and being in this space made me very emotional, it made me cry. I feel a very intense spiritual connection to things like this and places like this, it is so strong a feeling of nostalgia that I truly believe it is related to past life experiences, or perhaps memory passed down ancestrally, as the majority of my genetic ancestry is European.

There was a lot to do with Völva, seer women in viking society. There was a beautiful poem along the walls while a video played of a woman portraying a Völva dancing.

Seidr is a type of Nordic Shamanism, it is a Woman's art and Freya is a master of it, and she taught it to Odin, although it is taboo for mortal men to learn it.

Ran is a deity of the sea who claims some of those who perish on t he waters, to drown sometimes is to be caught in Rans net

If you watch the film 'The Northman', the Valkyrie has her teeth filled like the above jaw demonstrates.

Toke is also mentioned in the runestones I found at Hällestad church

This window seems to depict Fenrir.

I was so thrilled by this place and I hope to return again, I got a new altar cloth while I was here as well.

There are two days left for this unlimited travel ticket, but I am already becoming very tired. On Sunday I think I'll lay around all day.
