There and back again.

I've just returned from a long road trip (just in time for hurricane Milton.)

I went up to Salem to visit my old friends and walk in the haunted happenings parade (all of which I will discuss in another post), to visit King Richard's fair (my second favorite renaissance fair, the first being the Arizona renaissance festival) and to visit Diana's baths, a waterfall which holds spiritual significance to me.

I had not been camping since I was a child, and even then I cannot remember the last time I camped in a tent and not an RV, the most remarkable difference between then and now being that my paranoia has significantly increased and I had a lot of fears about being killed or attacked (by another person, I am not afraid of the forest or the creatures which live there, I am afraid of people.) But in the end I did quite well!

Altogether we went from Florida to New Hampshire, driving through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Vermont (Not necessarily in that order) and back again.

I had a strange paranormal experience on the way up which I would like to share.

We were going to stop at a campsite in PA one night, it made me very uneasy because our campsite was essentially on the shore of a lake and I am afraid of dark water (Primarily of swimming in it, but I did not want to sleep beside it either.) However the timing would not have worked out we realized at the last second, so we decided to stay in a hotel closer to Salem.

On the way out of the campsite we suddenly saw a Stag by the side of the road. One of the deities I have worked with the longest appears often as a Stag, so it was very interesting and I went to take a photo of him. When I was brightening the photo, I noticed a strange face peering at us from behind a tree that was just behind him, I do not believe it was a living person because I do not believe he would've stood so close to someone (I find the face easier to see from further away/smaller such as on a phone because the image is so low quality from being zoomed in/brightened etc, I circled the face but later friends noticed it has a body as well which is also circled it's the strange shadow distortion around the tree)

This was in the Poconos so I began looking at indigenous legends and spirits from the region to see if I found anything, and I found this being, masked face, large body, name means "masked one" even and he is associated with game animals but specifically with deer.

I truly believe this is who I met on the mountain, and I am so grateful to have had such an encounter, even if it was terrifying in the moment.

I can't wait to tell you about the rest of the trip. For now, enjoy these images of the cutest 7/11 I have ever seen.

Have you had any paranormal experiences you'd like to share?
