Skåne travel week Day 1- Söderåsens Nationalpark

Because of Eurovision, this week there was a special ticket that for 350 SEK allows one to travel around Skåne until the 12th. This is amazing and means all week I can take the train and bus all I want on that one ticket, so I'm trying to have an adventure every day. So I'm going to make a series of posts about what I've done each day.

On Sunday I intended to visit a lake called Odensjön, which means Odin's lake. I have been practicing Paganism since 2005, so this lake had a special significance to me. Odin is the highest among the Aesir, a family of Gods in Norse Paganism. Above is an image of a street I saw when I was in Klippan making my way here, Valhalla is one of the possible afterlives a person can achieve if they died valiantly in battle.

However on day 1 I did not make it to the lake. Along the way the bus stopped at Söderåsens Nationalpark and I panicked thinking that that was the actual place I was supposed to be so I got off the bus early. I ended up in a different, but no less beautiful forest/lake

There was some very interesting information about this area

My intention then was to return to Klippan the following day to visit Odin's lake. However, I think there is a very long trail which connects this area to Odin's lake. I hope to come back and hike it one day.

You really have an eye for photography. Such a gorgeous place to be able to visit! Just think- you're walking the exact places where dinosaurs walked. Feels magical, echoes of their power and greatness flowing through you giving you extra strength. I love it!!
