Vallåkra

I saw this river from the train when I was on my way to Skurup to watch the cows be released earlier last month and wrote down what the nearest train stop to it was so I could come back. This is a really lovely town not far from Helsingborg, actually most towns are lovely, I'm much more fond of small rural towns and villages than being in the city properly. This naturreservat (Nature reserve, your word of the day and a word you will read often if you hike or visit forests here) is called Borgen.

The train station had a statue of a rabbit. Earlier in April I saw a wild Hare for the first time, and have since seen many, but I started thinking about them and becoming attached to them. Hares and rabbits are creatures who live ever running, in a constant state of anxiety. I believe very firmly that everything in nature has a lesson to teach or a medicine to share and I felt that I kept running into Hare imagery because I need to learn a lesson about continuing to move forward even if I feel very afraid.

This is a rabbit plushie I found on the ground.

The statue at Vallåkra central inspired me to write something though:

I have seen countless hares running across the fields, and in the forests.

I wish with my heart we could run together, side by side.

I wish I could tell them that we are the same, and I too belong to the forests and the fields and I would go with them, naked and leaping through the wilds and

Curl up beside them in their secret places.

That is truly the goal of my life.

That plushy was meant for you 🩷 a surprising blessing from nature or maybe the hares
